Day Four was technically a rest day, but we still chose to do a short 14 mile ride up to the fortress town of Monteriggioni for a cappuccino. It was recommended on the route slip that we stay in Sienna to enjoy the beauty of the town, but we came to ride and off we went. The town's defensive wall still stands and for a few euros you can take a tour of it. Wonderful views of the Sienna valley beyond the walls. The town itself has an active church and residences which add to the atmosphere and the cappuccinos were some of the best we had. Great ride and great day to ride!
