California Coastal

Pictures from the 34 mile ride from Bodega Dunes to just short of Ft. Ross and back. Gorgeous day between the storms with one heck of head wind followed by one heck of a tail wind. Great riding along Highway 1 with not a lot of traffic this time of year. One of the best times to be down there if you can time it right.

Riding Along the Sacramento Delta

Debra, Joe, and I rode 75 miles along the Sacramento Delta where the Mokelumne, San Joaquin, and Sacramento Rivers come together about 50 miles from the San Francisco Bay. The roads are mainly flat and follow the tops of the dikes that prevent the surrounding communities from becoming inundated. The area is a mixture of vineyards, fruit trees, and pasture lands but has also become a major area for natural gas exploration. Lots of natural gas pads fill the landscape now. Great ride for those who want miles of flat green pretty roads.
